Minority Voters

From Libé:

This could be one of his motives for choosing Marseille and the "4e circonscription des Bouches-du-Rhône", except that this is not "les quartiers Nord", and there is not such an important percentage of minority voters in the 4th. The recent gerrymandrring of this circonscription was adapted to the growing "boboïzation" of the city center. The 2012 results (see on wikipedia) even if Menucci won over the F.N. don't allow to project an easy victory for Melenchon. Menucci will probably be defeated because of his past not because of Melenchon, and Solange Biaggi for L.R. is a well rooted local backed up by powerful Martine Vassal, SO IS Corinne Versini for REM backed up by highly popular Lisette Narducci. If the F.N. candidate remains the same, and the PC candidate remains the same, it will be Melenchon against 4 local women.
La Provence's headline thursday was " Mélenchon à la hussarde à Marseille" which for British ladies translates as " Mélenchon (chooses or takes) Marseille in a cavalier manner", which here has more powerful sexual undertones due to the hussars bad reputation dealing with women, on their way to war...
He is not a local, with or without minority votes, it won't work.

So, 9% minority voters voted for MLP in the first round! That's enormous and shows her de(demonization has worked (to a certain extent).

Massilian, thank you for this update! WOW JLM the mansplainer against four local women. He may regret this.

Am disappointed! Nothing on this day long ceremony covered live by most TV channels? It looked like a royal coronation/wedding to me, minus the church!
Is it always thus? Is it important for the French? hat did you think of it?
